Programming for Earth Day Dallas 2013 is currently underway and updates will be posted as new information becomes available.
Earth Day Dallas’ outdoor exhibits provide a public forum for leaders in the corporate, academic, and non-profit worlds to expose North Texans to information on hundreds of environmental topics that are pressing, engaging, and actionable.
Hundreds of exhibitor tents and special displays will encircle the Esplanade and its
fountains, providing a stunning backdrop for exhibitors to share colorful displays, free information, innovative products, scientific apparatuses, demonstrations, and hands-on opportunities for the whole family.
Classic fair food & beverages will be available along the Esplanade, as well as a number of fresh, super healthy choices designed especially for Earth Day Dallas attendees! Buskers, dancers, and other performers will entertain while Radio Disney hosts programming at the foot of the Esplanade
Earth Day Dallas is a unique, engaging, and entertaining family-friendly experience that empowers attendees with relevant information and clear steps they can take to better utilize available resources, switch to eco-friendly products, and support important non-profit environmental organizations.
Radio Disney will provide all-day entertainment and environmental programming featuring the Radio Disney AM 620 Team Green. Radio Disney will erect a stage, provide performances, and create an entertaining way to highlight how families can help save energy, reduce waste, and protect the environment. Radio Disney will offer multiple interactive games; craft stations, activities and a whole lot more!
YogiñosYogiños: Yoga for Youth® is an OHMazing® interdisciplinary curriculum in English, Spanish, and Sanskrit. Yogiños weaves together the 8 Limbs of yoga with original art, music, games, stories, and other sensory-integrated activities to promote flexibility, strength, balance, collaboration, civic and social responsibility, mindfulness, nutrition, and wellness both on and off the yoga mat.
DFW Truck Farm 5KPrior to the event’s Sunday kickoff at Fair Park, runners of all ages can participate in an environmental 5K fun run. Proceeds from the race will benefit the DFW Truck Farm, which teaches kids and the community about growing local foods and gardening in small spaces. Earth Day Dallas Tree Climbing ExperienceEDD will offer hourly tree climbing experiences both Saturday and Sunday. There is no cost to participate. Climbers will receive professional instruction on tree climbing; safety gear and techniques then enjoy the experience of being up in the trees for themselves.

The Anita N. Martinez Ballet Folklorico is considered the largest professional Ballet Folklorico Company in the United States. It has been a trailblazer in the Dallas Hispanic arts and educational community and will be performing at Earth Day Dallas 2013.
Chicken Coop Building & Raising ChickensThe father-daughter team of Ken and Jennifer Davis, Rain Ranchers, www.rainranchers.com, will teach attendees of Earth Day Dallas 2013 not only how to be successful in raising chickens in the urban environment, but also how to build a chicken coop! Building and helpful instruction will begin on Saturday and continue through Sunday. Come and learn all about it! The fully functional chicken coop will be donated to White Rock Local Market.
In connection with CBS Radio stations, the cast of Wicked will be on-site on Saturday during Earth Day weekend. Attendees will be provided with the opportunity to meet the cast of Wicked and have a chance to take a picture taken with them. Attendees can also sign up for a chance to win tickets for Saturday night’s show at Fair Park.
The Home Depot will provide programming and hands-on workshops that cover sustainable practices for the home and garden. These all-day hands-on workshops and demonstration stations will highlight environmentally friendly home and garden materials and practices.
The Home Depot Home & Garden Series will cover approximately 40,000 square feet of the Centennial Building with 20 distinct programming areas, including: container planting and gardening, life-size house of tomorrow, vegetable, tree planning and composting workshops, plants and trees that thrive in Texas exhibit, organic products for the home & garden, no VOC painting workshop, and a children’s hands-on seed planting workshops, and a whole lot more!
The Dallas Urban Debate Alliance (DUDA) provides comprehensive policy debate programming for DISD students who otherwise would not have access to this intensive academic opportunity.
On Saturday April 20, 2013, DUDA will hold formal debates on the topic of Transportation Infrastructure at Earth Day Dallas. Debates will be held Saturday at 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM.

Leilani Munter Special Appearance & RemarksLeilani Münter is a biology graduate turned professional racecar driver and environmental activist.
Discovery's Planet Green named Leilani the #1 Eco Athlete in the world. She is a recipient of ELLE Magazine's 2012 Genius Award and Sports Illustrated named her one of the top ten female racecar drivers in the world.
Master Gardener / Master NaturalistTexas A&M AgriLIFE professionals will conduct two days of all-day-long demonstrations, instructional classes, and talks that will address topics such as water conservation, urban wildlife, and green living.

Earth Day Dallas is an annual festival seeking to elevate environmental awareness and influence the way North Texans think, live and work.
Earth Day Dallas, Inc. (“EDD”) is a Dallas, Texas-based non-profit organization with a 501(c)(3) designation. EDD does not charge admission to its events and all exhibitor, sponsor and donor-related income is used for event planning and production. Any surplus income that may accrue will be donated by EDD to third-party environmental non-profits.
